Leisure activities aim to break down isolation within the community by enabling residents to enjoy enriching experiences with their neighbors. An annual program is organized and varies with the seasons. For example, during spring, summer and fall, there are rickshaw rides for the mobility-impaired and seniors in the community, a cycling group gets together for rides on PEI's trails, and a walking group meets regularly in the evenings.
Other examples of activities that are being organized include line dancing, luncheon talks, music jams, card games, a bowling league, intergenerational Acadian days, a mini Exposition agricole et Festival acadien with École Évangéline students and people from the community, and more!

The "Bienvenue Évangéline" project is part of the Welcoming Francophone Communities initiative, which responds to concerns and gaps expressed by Francophone minority communities during the 2015 and 2017 consultations on Francophone immigration. This initiative, proposed and funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), was developed using the "by and for" approach of Francophone communities. Bienvenue Évangéline is based on the priorities chosen by a community advisory committee following an assessment of the region. The strategic priorities are :
1) inclusive leadership,
2) economic development, entrepreneurship and employment, and
3) welcoming public spaces.
The natural interconnectivity of these sectors provides interesting support for local leaders, employers and residents.

Bons Voisins is a simple concept that formalizes what people already do for each other in our community, and gives it a structure so that newcomers, who don't yet know their "Bons Voisins", can benefit from their knowledge and advice.
Bons Voisins is a network of people who help integrate newcomers into the community. This network helps create links between members of the community and newcomers.
The network operates on a "twinning" basis. Community members are matched with a newcomer to the Evangeline region.
The responsibilities of network members towards newcomers are to :
- take the first steps and meet them;
- make sure they know they can ask for advice;
- help with reception and offer invitations and opportunities for outings, such as coffee;
- introduce them to people and opportunities to expand their networks, including volunteering.
Network members can also provide a general introduction to the region, informing newcomers about best-kept secrets, unmissable opportunities and more.
The main principles of Bons Voisins are respect for others, a willingness to listen, and a desire to promote our Acadian and Francophone community, our region and our province!

French-language community arts courses in the Evangeline region give people in the community the chance to try or improve their skills in a variety of cultural arts disciplines. Each year, the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline coordinates a variety of different community courses.

The Programme de perfectionnement artistique culturel is for artists in the Evangeline region who wish to perfect their talents through training, courses or workshops! Anyone who already has considerable experience in an artistic field can apply for financial assistance.
The artistic fields are varied: painting, music, singing, jigging, crafts, theater, sculpture, photography and more.
To apply, please submit a copy of the completed Funding Application Form (with budget) via email to reception@cscevangeline.ca. The deadline for submitting a request for support for a project taking place in fall-winter 2025-2026 is Friday, October 10, 2025.

The Evangeline Meals on Wheels program is a home-delivered hot meal service for residents aged 50 and over, as well as for those who have difficulty accessing healthy meals in the Evangeline region. The menu consists of a healthy meal (e.g. roast chicken or pork, fish and potatoes, lasagna, etc.) and dessert. Deliveries are made every Tuesday and Thursday. This service is offered at an affordable fee, per meal, paid one month in advance at the beginning of each month. Payments are accepted in person by cheque or cash, or by electronic transfer to finances@cscevangeline.ca.
