Reflection on the name of the Évangéline Community School Council (CSCÉ)
During its 30th Annual General Assembly, the CSCÉ invited its members and the community to participate in an important reflection on its identity in order to ensure fluidity in the operational activities of the coming years. Here is a brief context to explain the reasons for this questioning:
Whereas the CSCÉ's strategic plan identifies as a priority the strengthening of organizational capacities and the structure of the organization, and that the development of a communication plan has led to a reflection on its identity, the members expressed the wish to undertake an intentional process aimed at evaluating the impact and relevance of the organization's name.
Whereas the CSCÉ is in full preparation for the move to the future premises of the new Évangéline Education Centre, which involves making definitive decisions about permanent signage — and that it is therefore necessary to be fully confident in the organization's name before placing orders; ;
Whereas the current name «Évangéline Community School Council» creates confusion within the community regarding the respective roles of the CSCÉ, Évangéline School, and the French Language School Board (CSLF) in the Évangéline Education Centre; ;
Whereas the CSCÉ is a community organization that does not belong to the school system and does not play any role in the management of education, which makes the presence of the word «school» in its legal name questionable.
Whereas this reflection on the name of the CSCÉ is part of a broader context where several other identities in the Évangéline region are also being redefined, notably the name of the building under construction (in collaboration with the CSLF) and that of the future center of excellence in arts and culture; ;
It is therefore proposed to launch a consultation process with the Francophone and Acadian community of Prince Edward Island to inform a decision on the renewal of the CSCÉ's name.

Call to visual arts creators – Exhibition Red Dirt Paths
Opening: Wednesday, July 29 at 6 PM Location: Place du Village, Wellington
The Évangéline Community School Board (CSCÉ) invites visual artists from the Évangéline region and beyond to submit a work for a local art exhibition presented at the Place du Village in Wellington, P.E.I.
This exhibition will highlight the iconic landscapes of Prince Edward Island: its red dirt roads, rural routes, wildflowers, and peaceful horizons. Artists are invited to propose a work inspired by these elements that characterize our landscape and island identity.
Painting and mixed techniques are accepted. All styles are welcome to allow each artist to express their personal vision of the theme.
The exhibition will be guided by Paulette Leblanc, a local artist recognized for her creativity and deep attachment to the region.
The selected works will be unveiled at a public opening on Wednesday, July 29 at 6 p.m. at the Place du Village.

Annual General Meeting

Launch of the project Step by Step
The Évangéline Community School Board (CSCÉ) announces the launch of Step by Step, a platform dedicated to Acadian step dancing from Prince Edward Island.
This project aims to document, promote, and transmit this living tradition through interviews, photo and video archives, a library of dance steps, and educational and cultural resources.
Acadian step dancing holds an important place in the cultural life of the Island, passed down from generation to generation during gatherings, festivals, and community events. The project thus aims to preserve and make this living heritage accessible.

Workshop for music artists – Developing stage presence
This training session, led by Albert and Hélène, offers artists a great opportunity to develop their stage presence and refine the presentation of their artistic universe in performance.
The workshop will take place on June 11 at 6:30 PM. With practical advice, participants will have the chance to improve several aspects of their performance, including communication, engagement with the audience, and transitions between songs.

WELLINGTON, P.E.I. – March 30, 2026 – The Evangeline Regional School Board (ERSB) is pleased to invite the public to visit its new art exhibition featuring 5 Francophone artists from the province.
On Sunday, March 29, as part of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, the CSCÉ officially unveiled its new exhibition themed «Between Land and Sea» at the Wellington Village Square. This artistic project, guided by artist Paulette LeBlanc, who is recognized for her attachment to the Évangéline region and her creativity as an artist, showcases the Acadian landscapes: shores, the moving sea, blooming fields, grand horizons, and changing skies.
«This exhibition is, above all, a showcase for our local artists who have interpreted in their own way the landscapes that define the natural beauty of the island.» Karine Gallant, General Director of the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline.
The works of the 5 artists The following are part of this new exhibition: Rita Arsenault is an artist who specializes in acrylic painting. Her creative vision and commitment to realism result in timeless works, often inspired by her love of nature and gardening.
Rita's work is titled – Precious Resources
This artwork showcases the natural beauty of our forests and rivers. It is painted in acrylic on a canvas whose surface has been pre-prepared with a texture made of tissue papers and a polymer medium.
Michelle Joignant She is originally from Chile, and art has always been a driving force in her life. It is her voice and her way of communicating with the world.
Michelle's work is titled - Lilac Dream
An iconic landscape of Prince Edward Island. The green fields, their potato plantations, and the province's crops are set against the vastness of the island's clear sky, with a view of the neighboring province across the water. Not to forget the Confederation Bridge, which is characteristic of it. The main objective was to use perspective to give the viewer the impression of being immersed in the painting.
Nicole Sinasse She is passionate about art, painting, sculpture, street art, Japanese art, and all ways of expressing creativity through art. She enjoys sharing her passion by regularly leading art workshops. The island's magnificent colors are a major source of inspiration for her.
Nicole's work is titled – Between Sea and Land
The artist designed this work by blending the sea and lupines, elements that are an integral part of the island's beauty. She uses acrylic paint for her drawings, appreciating its quick drying time, while also adding a touch of varnish to make the colors pop. The choice of an oval canvas was favored to emphasize the idea of depth.
Edna Arsenault She has always been a creative person. She started painting 10 years ago, teaching herself by watching art tutorials on YouTube. She took online painting classes, not to develop new techniques, but rather to discover herself as an artist. She continues to be inspired by the nature around her, which is truly a magnificent masterpiece of Mother Nature.
Edna's work is called - Spacious Haven
The concept or goal is for people to ask questions as they look at the painting. The more they look, the more they discover, and it sparks their curiosity. The artist often uses mixed media, such as different modeling clays, to add texture, giving it more dimension and interest.
Léona Arsenault has been a prolific photographer and digital artist since 2005. She knows how to capture the luminosity and charm of landscapes, captivating viewers with her unique perspective.
Léona's work is titled – Boats Between Land and Sea
This composition immortalizes a moment of calm at the end of a hard day's work on the water, at Seacow Pond. The anchored fishing boats form a perfect «sandwich» between land and sea.
Those interested are invited to come and enjoy the exhibition «Between Land and Sea» located inside the Village Square (16 Pondside Street in Wellington) on the wall opposite the entrance to Murphy’s Pharmacy.
The mission of the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline (CSCÉ) is to administer the community component of the Évangéline Education Centre and to ensure the development of French-language programs and services to enhance the vitality of the Acadian and Francophone community of the Évangéline region.

CSCÉ is looking for a passionate individual to join our team this summer in the role of Community Communications and Programming Assistant. This essential role involves leading youth activities, supporting summer programming, and managing tasks associated with community projects.
As an activity coordinator, you'll be responsible for creating enriching experiences for young people and the community.
