The Acadian and francophone population of the province is grouped around six community centers. The presence of these centers is essential to ensure a greater development of the community, especially at the regional level. Acadians and Francophones are aware of the essential role of these centers in rallying them and in spreading their culture, both among Francophones and Anglophones.
In 1996, the Comité des Acadiens et Acadiennes de la région Évangéline, formerly known as CAARÉ, moved to a new location, the Centre scolaire-communautaire Évangéline (Centre d'éducation Évangéline in Abram-Village). As a result, CAARÉ has changed its name to Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline.
At its inception, the CSCÉ was the result of a partnership between the following associations:
The mission of the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline (CSCÉ) is to administer the community component of the Évangéline Education Centre and to ensure the development of French-language programs and services to enhance the vitality of the Acadian and Francophone community of the Évangéline region.
