THE BEACHES
You can swim in the warm salty water at the beach. The shallow shelf surrounding the shore allows the water to heat up. The beaches in the Evangeline region are perfect for bathing, long solitary walks, or watching for the array of migratory birds.
Whether you are building sandcastles, beachcombing for treasures or just enjoying the sounds of the surf, the beach is an ideal spot to let your mind wander.
CLAM DIGGING
You can go clam digging on our beaches in the Évangéline area. At low tide, you can see the small holes in the sand. These holes indicate the presence of hulls or clams. Dig them up and feast on them - you don’t even need a fishing license! The department of Fisheries and Oceans will be glad to inform you about the size regulations (902) 566-7812
